What about food for the children?

  • The children bring their own breakfast. About every 4 weeks our kitchen fairy Christina and the children prepare a healthy breakfast for everyone.

Does the kindergarten provide food and drink?

  • The kindergarten does not provide food but the drinks are provided at breakfast time. This includes milk, fruit teas and water. All children bring a flask for play time outside.

Are birthdays celebrated? If yes, how?

  • The birthday of each child is celebrated together. We have a morning circle where we sing our own birthday song, light candles and every child receives a small present from us. The children bring breakfast for everybody and sometimes a few sweets for the birthday-game circle.

What does my child need to bring to the kindergarten?

  • The children bring slippers, waterproof clothing and their back-pack which contains their breakfast. Monday is toy day and the children are allowed to bring their own books and table games every day.

Is there a library?

  • Yes, the children can borrow books every monday and keep them for one week.

Is there co-operation with other English nurseries?

  • Not at present unfortunately.

Ofsted-Report?

Do you offer afternoon care? How is this structured?

  • We offer afternoon care every day of the week from 1pm Monday and Tuesday till 6pm and Wednesday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm. Single afternoons can be catered for.

Which clothing is appropriate for the "nature day"?

  • The children need durable clothing and everyone must bring waterproof trousers, jacket and wellies every day.

How often are the children outside?

  • Our children are outside one to three hours daily.

In which way do you work with the children that have just moved in order to make their new start a positive one?

  • With our concept we try to make sure the children settle in to a new environment quickly by providing well-structured and socially safe surroundings. It is very important that the daily routine is structured and individual activity with each child is vital.

Is the English language also imparted in your kindergarten?

  • We have a nursery school teacher who only speaks English with the children and who provides daily life English to the children in small groups.

Is there a waiting list?

  • Yes there is and any questions will be happily answered by the head teacher.

Do the children need to be nappy-trained?

  • Yes they do but we do offer support in the nappy-training process.

Where is your kindergarten situated with regards to the German School?

  • We are directly next to the German School grounds.

How are your holidays regulated?

  • The holiday times are like those of the German School and the head teacher will be happy to provide a copy of that timetable.

What is the entry/required age?

  • Most of the children join us from the age of 3 but we do have the permission to accept children from 2½. We talk to the parents individually about this and base our decision on the development stage of each child.

How many children are in the group?

  • There are 24 to 28 children within our group.
